In-Rack Overhead Cranes are automated machines that can be described as inverted stacker cranes with a telescopic mast. They perform the storage and retrieval of goods while suspended from and guided by the top of the racking system. A solution based on these machines has a considerable amount of advantages when compared to a typical solution based on stacker cranes.

Suitable for both longitudinal and transversal corridors, these machines allow the easy circulation of people and other equipment such as forklifts, AGVs or conveyors. The ground level beneath an In-Rack Overhead Crane solution can be dedicated exclusively to picking operations, creating a high number of picking stations in a reduced area while granting an easier access to the products, ensuring excellent workplace ergonomics. The racks can be easily accessed by forklifts or platforms in case of breakdown since no bottom rail is required. Due to a higher capacity in the same volume owing to a very low first rack level and the full occupation of the space, storage is also possible over the expedition and reception areas.
In-Rack Overhead Cranes reach high speeds thanks to a dedicated anti-swinging control algorithm while having a reduced energy consumption due to its lighter weight and possibility of fitting energy regeneration units.

By specifically selecting their design characteristics, our extensive range of In-Rack Overhead Cranes can operate with diverse loads up to 2 000kg, arranged in single or multiple deep storage configurations. This equipment can also be designed to operate in special working conditions, such as freezing, high humidity and clean environments.
