Consoveyo Provides Automatic Warehousing to Intraplás
Consoveyo S.A. is developing a new project in Portugal with Intraplás - Indústria Transformadora de Plástico, S.A., a leading national company in the production of laminated goods and plastic packaging for the food industry.
The new automatic warehouse for finished product will be installed in the Lordelo industrial unit, Guimarães, and will have a capacity of approximately 14,400 pallet positions, being equipped with three 30-meter-high stacker cranes and absorbing an estimated monthly output of 18,000 pallets.
Jorge Ferreira, Intraplás Manager, highlighted: "Our company is specialized in extrusion in the laminate production and packaging thermoforming for the food industry. The new warehouse’s operational optimization is another step for Intraplás’ continuous technological innovation, one of the main factors that distinguish the company and contribute to strengthening its position as leader in its sector of activity. Consoveyo, being a reference company in the field of industrial automation at international level, was chosen as the partner for the development of the project of Intraplás’ new automatic storage system."
Consoveyo's solution also includes an Automatic Pallet Transport System equipped with two shuttle cars, which will interface with the production and shipping areas. In addition, the management of storage locations, orders and inventory and all automatic system movements will be guaranteed by the WMS/MFC (Warehouse Management System / Material Flow Control) software developed by Consoveyo.
"The tailor-made solution developed by Consoveyo for this new project allows us to respond to our main goals, which translates into greater effectiveness of occupied space, reduction of operational times and optimization of human resource management involved in the process. The project is still in the execution phase, but the cooperation experience has been very positive, one of the main strengths being the proximity to the customer and the capability of adapting to our needs," concludes Jorge Ferreira from Intraplás.
The work is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2018.
